Third Graders Learn to Harvest Hydroponic Lettuce Garden

Students in Ms. Urmanski's class at Warrens Elementary recently had the exciting opportunity to learn how to harvest lettuce from their very own hydroponic garden alongside Jesse Bender, our Director of Food Services!

Through this experience, students are gaining real-world knowledge about how food is grown, the science behind hydroponics, and the importance of fresh, healthy nutrition. Having a hydroponic garden right in our school allows students to connect classroom learning to practical skills, explore sustainability, and see firsthand how local food can support wellness and learning.

We’re proud to provide innovative opportunities like this that help our students grow—both in knowledge and curiosity!
