Good Morning Warrens/Wyeville Families,

First and foremost, I hope this email finds you and your family doing well during these times.  I know it has been a struggle dealing with so many changes in your lives, not the least of which is educating your child at home.  I want to keep reminding you to just do the best you can.  If some things get missed or not entirely completed, it is okay.  Keep reading, writing, and doing math especially.  Stay in contact with your child’s teacher with questions.

Hopefully you received Mrs. Zahrte’s email, but if you haven’t heard already, we will be doing physical pick-ups of educational materials for all our 4K through 3rd grade students at our school buildings on Monday, April 6th (10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) and Tuesday, April 7th (7:00 a.. to 3:00 p.m.).  A couple of special notes:

For parents with joint custody of children, we ask that you determine which parent will pick up the materials on Monday or Tuesday.  We are printing one set of materials per student.

Parents of 4K students who attend Noah’s Ark Preschool or Tomah School of Childhood can pick up their instructional materials at Miller Elementary School.

The process we will follow at our building is to have you drive up to the building, let us know the names/grades of your children, we will radio to our staff inside who will bring out materials, and we will then either hand you the materials through your window or place them on a table near your vehicle for you to grab.  In the case of rain, the only slight change we’ll make is to have you get out and approach the front door to let us know your child’s name/grade and we’ll do the handoff at the door.  We will not be allowing anyone in the building.

A couple of final important notes: 1) Please practice Social Distancing from our staff and other families (6 feet away), 2) Please grab your materials and go in a timely manner as we are trying to reduce contact as much as possible and get everyone their materials in an efficient way.

As always, please let me know if you have any questions at timothygnewikow@tomah.education or 608-374-7801.

Take care everyone and hope to see you on Monday/Tuesday!

Grab and Go Lunches

We have modified the delivery of Grab and Go lunches to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. This is designed to protect you and our employees. The less number of times you need to leave your home over the course of the next month, the better. All children 18 years of age or younger will be able to pick up TWO Grab and Go lunches on Monday (covers Monday and Tuesday) and TWO Grab and Go lunches on Wednesday (covers Wednesday and Thursday) and then ONE Grab and Go lunch on Friday.

We are adding one additional Grab and Go Lunch site to our current locations. Beginning this Friday, April 3, a lunch van will be at the entrance to Oakwood Estates (on Sime Avenue, near Toro) at 1:15 p.m. Students and families who live near this site are encouraged to pick up free Grab and Go lunches there.

Notes from the Office:

  • If your child is ill, you will need to call the attendance office at 374-7800 prior to 8:30 am. You may call this number anytime of the day or night and leave a message. Be sure to include your child's name, reason for the absence and your child’s homeroom teacher.
  • If your child will be tardy to school, you need to call the office at 374-7800 before 8:30 am so a hot lunch will be ordered for them.
  • Children should not arrive at school prior to 7:30 am as there is no supervision provided for their safety. School ends at 3:00 pm always plan to arrive on time to pick up your child. Children become concerned when parents are late for pick up.
