Programs & Resources

Use the links on the left to find additional details for one of the programs listed below.

PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports)

The Tomah Area School District uses PBIS as a process for creating safer and more effective schools.  PBIS focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support the positive behaviors of all students.  We recognize that it is very important to be consistent with behavior expectations, to teach respectable behaviors, to handle poor behavior choices appropriately, and to provide positive reinforcement when students are following the rules.  Our main goal is to create safe environments where teachers can teach and all students can learn.

TechKid

Elementary students in grades K-2 meet regularly to gain instruction on technology.  A Technology Integration Specialist meets with a classroom to introduce them to new technologies.  Students also learn appropriate use of technology resources.  These links are available at home or school and build on the curriculum taught in their classrom.

TimberPUPS (Partners United for Pre-School)

All 4K students in the Tomah Area School District are part of the TimberPUPS program.  The staff collaborate regularly to make sure all students will be prepared when they enter their kindergarten classroom.  There are six buildings that house TimberPUPS classrooms.  They are located at Oakdale, LaGrange, Lemonweir, and Warrens within the Tomah Area School District.  This program also has classrooms in Noah's Ark Christian Pre-School and the Tomah School of Childhood.

Home & School Connection Newsletter

Each school receives monthly newsletters that are sent home with students.  These newsletters are also availble through the end of each school using the link on the left.  Each newsletter provides tips and tools to help the home and school settings work together for student success.
