Welcome to Tomah Area School District!
Here, we believe in High-Quality Student Learning — Every Child, Every Day. Nestled in the heart of western Wisconsin, our district is home to more than 3,000 students who learn, grow, and thrive across eight elementary schools that includes a public Montessori charter school, as well as a middle school, a high school, and alternative learning options designed to meet the unique needs of every student. We are proud to offer small-town warmth with big opportunities! Each student here has access to a wide range of academic programs, athletics, arts, and extracurriculars where students can explore their interests and grow in meaningful ways — because we know learning extends far beyond the classroom.
A Positive, Supportive Environment
We also place a strong emphasis on behavior and school climate. Through our Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS) system, we promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. This framework helps us teach, model, and reinforce behaviors that help students — and our entire school community — thrive.
Committed to Equity and Inclusion
As a public school district, we are committed to equity and inclusion. We adhere to strict nondiscrimination policies — ensuring that every student, regardless of background or identity, has access to the opportunities we provide.

Our Mission
High Quality Student Learning. Every Child. Every Day. Our mission is simple but powerful: we are committed to ensuring every student learns and grows every single day. We recognize that students come from different backgrounds, with different strengths and needs, and we strive to meet each child where they are so they can reach their full potential.
Our Vision
Our vision is equally ambitious: we aim to provide excellent academics and co-curricular opportunities that help students develop life-long skills, preparing them not only for success in our local community, but for whatever paths they choose in a global world.
Our vision reflects our belief that excellent academics and co-curricular opportunities prepare students not only for today, but for success in college, careers, and community life.
Our Values
We are guided by core values that shape our culture:
- Innovation — We continually seek new and effective ways to support student learning.
- Integrity — We foster honest, open communication and treat each person with fairness and compassion.
- Respect — We believe in the inherent value of every individual and create environments that promote belonging.
- Passion — We celebrate public education and bring energy and dedication to our work.
- Leadership — We empower students and staff to grow as leaders through collaboration and accountability.
