At the 1/17/22 regular meeting of the Board of Education, members approved the following revision to the district quarantine protocol which is effective immediately:
ISOLATION: Persons who have tested positive for COVID will need to be on isolation for a period of 10 days from when symptoms started. You may return sooner if you are able to meet the following criteria:
- If you have no symptoms or your symptoms are resolving (this includes being 24 hours fever free without fever reducing medications) after 5 days, you can leave your house.
QUARANTINE: Persons exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID are asked to comply with one of the options below:
- Test to Stay Program: Opt to not quarantine and instead be tested every other day beginning with your first day back to school/work and you can remain in school as long as that test is negative. Required every other day testing through day 5 post exposure.
- No Test Option: Opt not be tested and are not having any symptoms, return to school/work on Day 6 post exposure. The CDC recommends wearing a mask for a full 10 days post exposure while around people. The school district does not have a mask mandate in place. If you develop symptoms get tested and stay home until you have results.
- Effective Immediately: In revised guidance sent out February 25th, 2022, CDC clarifies that the TSA mask mandate for public transportation does not apply to public or private schools, including early care and education/childcare programs. Effective immediately face coverings will be optional for riders on Tomah Area School District school buses and vans.
